The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
The reasons why Jean Beliveau stayed in Quebec City to play for the senior Aces rather than join the Montreal Canadiens are numerous, but ultimately he wanted to say thank you for the grand treatment he received during his two seasons with the junior Citadels. His presence packed the Colisée night after night and the Aces went all the way in ‘51-52. This sensational photo pictures the men who claimed the Alexander Trophy. Among those joining Beliveau are the great Herbie Carnegie, captain Phil Renaud, Joe Crozier, Ludger Tremblay, "Yogi" Kraiger, Jackie Leclair, goalies Jean Marois and Jack Gelineau and coach Punch Imlach. Photo itself measures approximately 19" x 14" and includes the players' names on the cream-colored border. Minor rippling can be spotted but overall the condition is excellent. Jean Beliveau's signed LOA will accompany this fabulous piece of hockey history.
