The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Captivating trophy commemorates Jean Beliveau's first ever 3-goal game in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Evidence that play is indeed "tighter" come playoff time is in the fact that Beliveau hadn't potted a playoff hat trick until April 20, 1968. His 3 goals and one assist that night against the Black Hawks led the Canadiens to a 4-1 win and a 2-0 semi-final series lead. A Montreal Forum crowd of 15,114 witnessed the spectacle, with Beliveau completing the hat trick at 17:57 of the 2nd period. The Canadiens Art Ross/Converse puck Beliveau backhanded past Chicago's Denis Dejordy was later incorporated into this marvellous trophy. A chip on the front edge to mention and the patent number on the back while one of the golden hockey players has been repaired. Accompanying the trophy will be three candid color dressing room photos of Beliveau wearing a hat and holding up three pucks. Mr. Beliveau has autographed them and will also sign a LOA to be included with this fabulous lot.
