The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
On March 3, 1968 Jean Beliveau joined Gordie Howe as the only men to score 1000 regular season points in the NHL. A powerplay goal 5 minutes into a game in Detroit, assisted by Bobby Rouseau and Dick Duff was the historic point. Montreal Canadiens management not long after presented Beliveau with some great ceramic pieces. A covered soup-serving dish with ladle and two other serving dishes are joined by a water pitcher, 10 tumblers, 8 beer mugs, and 6 rather funky coffee mugs. All pieces feature the Habs logo with "1000e" and "1967-68" added in gold. The gold-lipped pieces are in perfect condition and represent a formidable and all-important milestone. Something a little bit "different", they'll be accompanied by a LOA signed by Jean Beliveau.
