The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Impressive awards were presented to Jean Beliveau by the prestigious "Sport" magazine following two of his stellar seasons. Beliveau definitely convinced the hockey world of his unmistakable talents while reaching superstar status with his formidable '55-56 season. In just his 3rd NHL season, the Canadiens center fired 47 goals and totaled 88 points to win the Art Ross and Hart trophies and earn a spot on the NHL's 1st All-Star Team, before leading the Habs to the first of five straight Stanley Cups. Like the engraving on the '56 award states, Beliveau truly was the top performer in hockey. The '64 award came after Beliveau was again named MVP of the league, finishing just behind Mikita and Hull in the scoring race while leading Montreal to a 1st place finish. The plaques measure approximately 15" x 10" and 8" x 12" respectively and have been preserved in excellent condition. From two of Jean Beliveau's finest seasons, the special mementos will be accompanied by his signed letter of authenticity.
