The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2005
Some of the women who followed Jean Beliveau's career will probably tell you that this trophy could have been awarded to the dreamy Canadiens star for a number of years running! Beliveau's elegance and aristocrat-like dignity were admired by many. This impressive trophy rises to just under 27" tall and includes a golden hockey player sorrounded by three pillars which support a handled cup upon which stands a male statuette raising a cup to the heavens. A 6" x 6" wooden block sits upon the 8" x 8" base and has an engraved metal plaque that reads "Sports Illustrated - The Manhattan Shirt Company - The Most Stylish Performer Award to Jean Beliveau - 1960". The impressive trophy is in excellent condition with the hockey player's stick gone missing over the years and a broken wing to the small eagle in the back. Still stylish and able to melt women's hearts to this day, Jean Beliveau will sign a LOA that will be included with this fabulous piece which until just recently was on display at the Hall of Fame.
