The Bobby Hull Auction - May 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/25/2004
Bobby Hull became Chicago's all-time leading goal-scorer in January of 1965 in a 7-4 win over the Red Wings. Although this puck lists the date as January 10th in Chicago, the milestone 259th goal actually came the previous afternoon in Detroit when Hull's 34th of the season at 14:30 of the first period gave Chicago a 3-1 lead. The record-breaking goal on Roger Crozier was assisted by Phil Esposito and Chico Maki and broke Bill Mosienko's mark. Bobby later scored #35 on his way to a single-season record of 54. This Converse Red Wings game puck was gilt-coated and had an engraved metal plate added to commemorate the event. A letter of authenticity signed by one of hockey's greatest scorers will be included.
