Winter 2004 Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction

Sensational pre-war jersey from the British National League which was formed in 1935-36. Blue and gold wool jersey features an impressive cloth and embroidered crest sewn on the front, while Harringay is sewn-on in individual letters just above. A number "4" and a nameplate featuring "CHEYNE" in individual letters are sewn-on the back. Dunc Cheyne is listed as having played for the Greyhounds during the 1938-39 and 1939-40 seasons. Other than the tattered collar, the jersey is in remarkable excellent condition with four repairs on the sleeves and another on the left shoulder. Just one small hole to mention on the back right shoulder. Typical of the times, size is men's small. Jerseys from this era are tough to come by.
