Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
The record holder for the second-most lifetime strikeouts of any left-handed pitcher, Steve Carlton was the first player to win four Cy Young Awards in a career. Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994 after a career that spanned 24-years and saw him win two (2) World Series championships as well as the Triple Crown for pitchers in 1972, offered here, we present this copy of Carlton's 1965 Topps rookie card that has been inspected and encapsulated by the graders at PSA who have deemed it worthy of a VG-EX 4 designation. Pictured alongside fellow pitcher Fritz Ackley, the card presents with an image over the front that is slightly off-center, fairly sharp corners, excellent colours and what appear to be clean surfaces when viewed under the coverage of the PSA holder. With the reverse sharing a story condition wise that is much the same as the front, the PSA holder is seen as being in excellent condition, showing just a couple small imperfections over both sides that are worth noting for accuracy.
