Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
A charter member of the National Hockey League that set up shop way beforehand in 1909, the Montreal Canadiens lay claim to the most Stanley Cup championships in NHL history with a total of twenty-four (24) and have had some of the best players in the history of the game to don their famed bleu, blanc et rouge. Offered here, we present this collection of thirty (30) pucks relating to the Canadiens that includes both warm-up used and retirement night game pucks of Roy, Dryden and Savard. Starting with the warm-up used offerings, hailing from Montreal's home contests on October 13th, 2018 vs Pittsburgh, October 30th, 2018 vs Dallas and November 1st, 2018 vs Capitals, the Pittsburgh puck comes with a Canadiens COA while all three (3) pucks show light use through some marks and abrasions. For the retirement night game pucks hailing from the evenings that celebrated Patrick Roy, Ken Dryden and Serge Savard, each is found to be factory sealed in their original plastic case and displays small retired number banners of each player at the bottom along with the date the game was played and a Canadiens logo. For the rest of the lot, made up mostly of signed souvenir and game pucks that all feature Canadiens logos over their fronts, examples are included for the likes of Alexander Romanov, Cole Caufield, Paul Byron, Dick Irvin (faded signature), Jim Bartlett, Andrei Markov, Glen Skov, Jean Guy Talbot, Phil Myre, Ivan Irvin, Lou Fontinato, Marc Reaume, Henri Richard (photo puck), Butch Bouchard (photo puck), Réjean Houle, Gerry McNeil, Gilles Dube, Jim Peters, Dickie Moore (photo puck), Ceasar Maniago, John McCormack and Guy Lapointe (signed on number retirement night game puck). All signed in either black, silver, or blue marker ink, all the signatures display wonderfully unless noted above while some of the pucks are also accompanied by COA's. Finally, the last two pucks are found in the form of souvenir offerings commemorating Montreal's 10,000th home ice goal on January 27th, 2002 vs San Jose and their participation in the first (1st) game at the Air Canada Centre against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
