Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
A defenceman who would wind up playing a total of 368 games in the National Hockey League between 1926 and 1936, suiting up for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Cougars and New York Americans over that time, William "Bill" Brydge is the subject of this lot, pictured over the front of his card from the 1925 Dominion Chocolate "Athletic Stars" stars release. Card #101 in the set and displaying a ghostly black-and-white image of Brydge over the front of the card, the desirable cardboard in found to be complete, with its redemption tab still attached to the bottom of the card underneath the image. Having been graded by PSA to the tune of a NM-MT 8 designation but sporting an "MC" (miscut) qualifier over the label as well, the card is a POP 1 example with none ever having been graded higher according to the company's Population Report. Housed in a PSA holder for preservation that shows just minor imperfections, don't miss out on this one for your all-important vintage portfolio.
