While still fighting under his birth name of Cassius Clay, the undefeated fighter in his 19th career bout met British heavyweight Henry Cooper on the world stage at London's Wembley Stadium, on June 18, 1963. This original Type 1 photo of Clay en route to The Swinging City for his bout with Cooper pictures the champ holding up one hand with all fingers extended to symbolize that Copper won't last more than 5 rounds. At approx 6 1/2" x 8 1/2", there is lengthy typed text on the reverse indicating that the photo was taken as Clay arrived in London, along with the date of "27-5-63" and a stamp from Mirrorpic Daily Mirror. Additional stamps show the photo was used numerous times for publication including in 1964, 1970, 1972 and 1974, and there is also some pencil writing and notations. There are a few creases and surface lines to the photo, with the indentations from the writing on the reverse visible. There are also a few marks and scratches to the PSA holder.
