Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
Drafted by both the National Hockey League's Chicago Black Hawks (79th overall) and World Hockey Association's Minnesota Fighting Saints (55th overall) in the Summer of 1975, Bob Hoffmeyer would choose the route of the NHL for his professional career and go on to play a total of 198 games in the league with the likes of Chicago, Philadelphia and New Jersey. Offered here, we present this stick used by Hoffmeyer during his time with the New Jersey Devils in 1983-84 which has been team-signed. A Sher-Wood P.M.P. 5030 model stick with "Hoffmeyer" stamped over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original white tape job over the unique "hook" handle/knob and black around the blade while the stick also still sports its original foil accent sticker around the bottom of the shaft. Displaying game-use via some dark marks and other abrasions throughout the shaft with other marks seen over both sides of the blade tape as well, the blade tape also shows some wear to the underside that is worth noting for accuracy while the bottom edge of the blade itself is also worn/cracked in areas. Regarding the signatures, all signed in black ballpoint pen over the forehand side of the shaft, twenty-one (21) have signed including Aaron Broten, Bob Hoffmeyer, Mike Antonovich, Tim Higgins, Dave Cameron, Dave Lewis, Pat Verbeek, Rick Meagher and others. All the signatures display well with just minimal fading being observed.
