Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
Playing a total of thirteen (13) seasons in the National Hockey Association/National Hockey League with his hometown Ottawa Senators during his professional hockey career between 1910-11 and 1923-24, Jack Darragh would help the Senators to a quartet of Stanley Cup championships as well as an NHA championship as well. Making a meteoric jump directly from the amateur ranks to professional hockey, without any schooling in the junior game, going right from the amateur leagues to the National Hockey Association, Darragh would go on to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1962. Offered here, we present this stunning type l photo of Darragh during his early days with the Senators that dates to circa 1911-12. A sepia paper photograph that pictures Darragh in his high neck Senators sweater, the headshot image displays beautifully doe its effort, showing some light surface marks and wear that are mostly contained to the edges of the piece while it appears that a small surface dent/line exists to the right of Darragh's head. Measuring roughly 6 2/3" x 10" for its effort and taken at Topley Studio in Ottawa based on the signature over the bottom right corner, the piece has been placed in an oversized gold coloured wooden frame which measures slightly smaller than 11" x 17" and shows some marks/abrasions throughout which is worth noting for accuracy.
Please note; While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit.
