One in a long line of noble Montreal team captains to contribute monumental effort to the Canadiens' cause during his memorable 16-year career, Bob Gainey helped the Habs to five Stanley Cup titles while combining amazing defensive play with 239 career goals. Contributing 10 post-season points in just 20 games to help the Montreal Canadiens claim the 1986 Stanley Cup championship over the Calgary Flames, Gainey is captured here, Stanley Cup above his head in an image taken during the on-ice celebration at the Olympic Saddledome in Calgary after Montreal's 4-3 victory in Game 5. Measuring roughly 8" x 10" and captured in black-and-white by Bruce Bennett, the image a pair of stamps over the reverse, one of which is Bennett's, as well as notations reading "Bob Gainey" and "May 1986" in blue ballpoint pen ink. Also having had a red coloured circular sticker with "77" found in it affixed to the reverse along with a "Sporting News Collection" hologram. Remaining in overall excellent condition, showing with just light edge and corner wear all the way around plus a spot of paper loss on the surface to the above the "A" in the "Safeway" ad, the photo has been deemed by PSA to be an "AUTHENTIC" Type l example and is housed in an oversized PSA holder that remains in excellent condition.
