Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
Picturing three (3) men that would go on to be inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame after concluding their playing careers, the likes of Ray Bourque, Mark Messier and Glenn Anderson are captured here in this black-and-white image taken during the first (1st) game of the 1990 Stanley Cup Finals that was contested between the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers. With Bourque seen feeding a pass down to another player, the image, measuring roughly 8" x 10" and taken by noted photographer Bruce Bennett, has been deemed to be an "AUTHENTIC" Type l offering by PSA. Found to be in overall excellent condition with only light wear being observed to the corners, edges and surface as well as the lightest amount of toning possible to be considered a deterrent, the reverse side of the image sports penned notations reading "1990", "NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs - Finals - Game 1" and "Ray Bourque/Glenn Anderson - Mark Messier" in either black marker or blue ballpoint pen ink, the reverse also sports Bruce Bennett and Brian Miller stamps from a black coloured ink pad while another appears in red over the middle. Also having had a green coloured circular sticker with "24" penned in it affixed to the reverse along with a "Sporting News Collection" hologram, the image is housed in an oversized PSA holder that remains in excellent condition overall.
