Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
The only hockey card release for the season as Topps elected to sit out for the year, the 1982-83 O-Pee-Chee set featured a checklist of 396-cards in all for its effort, which is paced by the key rookie cards of Dale Hawerchuk, Brent Sutter, Grant Fuhr, Neal Broten, Ron Francis, Joe Mullen and Thomas Steen as well as numerous other stars and future Hockey Hall of Fame inductees. Offered here, and spared from the hands of card hungry youngsters back in the day, is this lot consisting of two (2) unopened wax packs of O-Pee-Chee's 1982-83 release which have been graded by the professionals at PSA. Both featuring the same generic goalieimagery over the front of their blue coloured wrappers, each also displays "HOCKEY" in big bold yellow letters, the logos of O-Pee-Chee and the NHL and the original per-pack-purchase price of .25 cents. Each featuring a total of ten (10) cards plus a stick of gum on the interior, both packs display a "plastic gun with suction cup darts" promotional send away offer over their reverses. Both having been inspected and encapsulated by PSA, one (1) pack has been deemed worthy of a NM-MT 8 designation and shows the card of Paul Coffey through its wrapper on the reverse while the other sports a mark of NM 7 and gives collectors a peek at the card of Joe Mullen through its wax covering. Both housed in PSA holders that are in overall excellent condition, don't miss out on these for your collection!
