Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
Averaging over 26 wins a season throughout his HOF career, Ed Belfour would amass a career-high 43 in 1990-91, and would set a then-franchise record for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2002-03 of 37, with the 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild, on April 3, 2003. Offered here, we present this stick used by Eddie the Eagle during the 2003-03 season, his first as a member of the Maple Leafs. A Christian made twig in Toronto's blue, white and silver colour way, "Belfour" factory graphics appear over the upper part of the shaft while his trademark eagle logo is found over the heel on the forehand side. Retaining its original blue cloth-over-white tape job around the handle knob and white around the blade, the hand grip area at the bottom of the shaft also sports a blue cloth tape job that is partially covering up the Christian brand label sticker while a piece of foam is in place for shock absorption as well. Signed by Belfour with a large silver marker ink signature over the forehand side of the blade that displays without issue, the stick shows game-wear via marks to the taped section of blade as well as additional marks and abrasions to the paddle while spots of red post paint decorate the backhand side of the upper shaft. A JSA LOA will accompany the stick for the autograph with the certification number Y21230.
