A champion at every level, Jim Paek captured titles with the Oshawa Generals in the OHL,
hoisted the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and even won it all in the IHL before
making his mark in the NHL. This rare third-style Muskegon Lumberjacks jersey, commonly
referred to as a “Sunday jersey”, was worn by Paek during his rookie 1987-88 IHL season,
where he played in all 82 games and posted an impressive 59 points as a defenseman.
Manufactured by Cooper, this jersey is tagged as a size “XL” in the collar and measures
approximately to a size “54”. The back features a “3” in black over white print, while the sleeves
also show the number “3” in a white single layer. Notably, evidence of number changes is
present on both sleeves. The outlines (on the right sleeve) and the actual blacked-out numbers (on the left sleeve) are visible beneath the current ones, though no such change is evident on the back.
Patches include a stitched Cooper logo on the back hem. Inside, a customized
coin-and-skate-lace fight strap offers a cool example of old-school ingenuity.
Game wear is evident across the jersey. The front band displays three prominent stick marks,
while the right sleeve features sizable red transfer marks near the cuff along with smaller stick
marks. Similar wear is found on the left sleeve.
