Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025

This Johnstown Chiefs game-worn jersey was used by defenseman Rob Leask during either the
1993–94 or 1994–95 ECHL season. Leask played for the Chiefs in both campaigns, contributing
as a big time point getting defenseman for the club. Manufactured by ProWear and tagged a
size “54” in the collar, this black jersey features all the classic styling of the mid-‘90s Chiefs. An
alternate captain’s “A” is stitched on the left breast, while a “U.S. Bank” sponsor patch is stitched
on the right breast. The number “44” appears on both sleeves and the back in black over yellow
heat-pressed application. The first 4 on the back displays some peeling toward the base of the
number. “LEASK” is printed in black across the back. A Bauer logo is stitched to the rear hem,
and a fight strap remains firmly affixed inside.
No doubt this is a war-hardened piece. The front of the jersey displays a series of scattered
stick and puck marks. The right sleeve presents board burns, stick marks and holes, especially
around the elbow and cuff. Also worth noting are what appear to be blood stains near the elbow.
The left sleeve features similar wear: more puck and stick marks, a small red transfer mark near
the shoulder, and board burns around the lower arm. The back of the jersey is no exception,
showing further stick marks and potential blood stains, along with color fading on the black
heat-pressed numbers.
