Worn during the first half of the Steelheads’ 2006-07 championship season, this jersey was
worn by WHL product and 1999 Vancouver Canucks draft pick Darrell Hay.
This Reebok-made jersey is a size “56” as tagged on the inside of the collar. A Reebok crest is
stitched on the reverse neckline, while a second crest is placed on the left breast above the
alternate captain’s “A”. Interestingly, the faint outline of a previously affixed captain’s “C” remains
visible around the patch, suggesting Hay may have worn both designations at different points in
the season. The right breast features a special 10th anniversary patch commemorating the
franchise’s decade in the league, alongside a Qwest sponsorship patch. Both shoulders feature
Idaho Steelheads team crests. The number “44” appears on both sleeves in white over black
tackle twill, and in white over silver tackle twill on the verso. “HAY” is sewn in white single twill
onto a black nameplate. A fight strap remains firmly affixed inside the jersey. Along the back
hem, both a MeiGray patch and an ECHL patch are sewn on.
Game wear is extensive throughout, particularly on the sleeves. The right sleeve includes a
visible cut in the arm, small holes near the elbow and cuff, stick marks, and brown staining
around the lower cuff. The left sleeve shows pilling near the shoulder and forearm, as well as a
faint board burn. Across the second “4” on the back, a bold blue transfer mark is present. The
front and lower body of the jersey show additional signs of wear consistent with regular in-game
use. This jersey comes with a MeiGray LOA.
