Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025

Stanley Cup champions within just their first decade of existence, the New York Islanders built a powerhouse team throughout the 1970s, culminating in a quartet of Stanley Cup championships over the course of five (5) straight Stanley Cup Finals appearances while icing some of the era’s greatest players. Offered here, we present this collection of eight (8) pucks signed by men that suited up in the blue and orange colours of New York during their reign of dominance at the start of the 1980s. Signing their autographs over mostly souvenir model slugs made by InGlasCo that feature various styles and sizes of Islanders logos over their fronts and NHL logos on the reverse sides (there is one vintage Viceroy example included as well as an 80's souvenir puck also), all of the pucks included in the lot have been signed in silver marker ink while each also has been inscribed by the man that signed it with an inscription listing the Stanley Cup's they won while wearing New York's uniform during the 1980s. Additionally, a couple have also included inscriptions for their number and/or HHOF induction year as well. Including examples signed by HOFers Mike Bossy, Clark Gillies, Denis Potvin, Billy Smith, Bryan Trottier and Al Arbour, also present are pucks signed by Bob Nystrom and Chico Resch. With the signatures all displaying beautifully for the most part (some show the odd light/small smudge that is worth mentioning for accuracy), many of the pucks included are accompanied by matching COA's from companies such as SportAuthentix while the pucks themselves are also in good condition and typically show just light handling wear (the Viceroy puck shows some wear/crazing to the rubberized logo on the front).
