Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
Finishing the regular season in third place in the National Hockey League behind Montreal and Toronto, the Chicago Black Hawks would breeze through both the Canadiens and Red Wings in the Stanley Cup playoffs to capture the franchise’s first championship banner since 1938. Presented here, we offer this collection of fifteen (15) pucks that have been signed by players who were a part of Chicago's 1960-61 Stanley Cup championship squad. Signing their autographs over mostly souvenir model slugs made by InGlasCo that feature various styles and sizes of Black Hawks logos over their fronts and NHL logos on the reverse sides, all of the pucks included in the lot have been signed in either silver or gold marker ink while each has also been inscribed by the man that signed it with an inscription listing the 1961 Stanley Cup victory in some form. Additionally, a couple have also included inscriptions for their number and/or HHOF induction year as well. Including examples signed by HOFers Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Glenn Hall, Pierre Pilote, Al Arbour and Bill Hay, also present are pucks signed by Murphy, Nesterenko, Fleming, Maki, Litzenbeger, McDonald, St. Laurent, Sloan and DeJordy. With the signatures all displaying beautifully for the most part (some show the odd light/small smudge that is worth mentioning for accuracy) along with the pucks themselves (some show light handling/age wear), many of the pucks included are accompanied by matching COA's from companies such as AJ Sports, DoubleDeke Hockey, SportAuthentix and other companies. Additionally, also included with the lot is a vintage 1969-77 Art Ross/Converse Black Hawks puck that features a screened reverse logo which remains in overall good condition despite it age, carrying a fairly clean front rubberized crest while some gashes and missing chunks are present over both sides as well.
