Founded in 1885, and stamping the backs of strip cards from the W515 set in 1923 to produce what is generally believed to be the first baseball cards from the company, Fleer later produced basketball and football card sets. The company lasted until 2005, when it was purchased by Upper Deck. We offer a group of five Fleer baseball card complete 660-card sets including from 1981 (2), 1982 and 1983 (2).
All five sets average in the EX/MT to NRMT condition range, including 28-Brett (2), 346-Baines rookie (2) 351-Henderson (2), 481-Gibson rookie (2), 1-Rose and 57-Ryan from the 1981 sets, with just the second 1-Rose card and second 57-Ryan card both EX/MT with tiny corner dings. The 1982 set is consistent with all cards in EX/MT to NRMT, including 92-Henderson, 176-Ripken rookie, 229-Ryan, 256-Rose, 258-Schmidt and 336-Baines rookie. The 1983 sets are also consistently in the EX/MT to NRMT range including 70-Ripken (2), 179-Boggs rookie (2), 360-Gwynn rookie (2), 463-Ryan (2) and 507-Sanberg rookie (2).
