Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2025
The early ’90s were a golden era for hockey in Winnipeg — a time when the old Winnipeg
Arena was buzzing and the city fell in love with a young Finnish phenom named Teemu, who lit
up the league with an unforgettable 76-goal rookie season. That electric year helped define the
identity of a team that, while eventually relocated in 1996, left an indelible mark on the game
and in the hearts of Manitobans. The original Jets may have folded, but the passion they
sparked never faded — and when the team finally returned to Winnipeg, they stood on the
foundation built by those unforgettable early squads.
Offered is a commemorative banner honoring the 1993–94 Winnipeg
Jets. The banner measures 25 inches in length and 15 inches in width, complete with elegant red tassel design
on the end and vibrant red cursive embroidery that reads: “1993–94 In Recognition and with
Thanks for Your Commitment to Professional Hockey in Manitoba.” Just below the embroidery
are four sharp signatures in black marker from Teemu Selanne, Keith Tkachuk, Kris King, and
Dean Kennedy — four beloved members of that storied roster. Each signature remains in
pristine condition, bold and clean against the white fabric. The banner itself is in excellent
shape, with only some minor yellow stains on the upper and lower half of the banner.
