Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025

Playing numerous seasons in his native Sweden before coming to North America, goaltender Eddie Lack backstopped clubs in the AHL including Manitoba and Chicago before making his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks in 2013-14. This signed glove was used by 2017 IIHF World Championships gold medal winner during his rookie season, in 2013-14. A Brian's G-Netik Pro model in Canucks colours with "Lack" embroidered to the extended forearm guard, Kay Whitmore has signed as acting goaltending supervisor for the NHL, with a handwritten "P" beside the signature (we are unsure if this was written by Whitmore or if it was added later, and if it might possibly denote that this glove was used in practices, as we could not find any photo-match images of Lack using this exact glove during games, although he did use this type of model all season). Light to moderate game-use is visible on the glove, with puck marks to the pocket and across the wrist guard. Lack has signed the outside finger section in thin black ink, adding "All the Best", with a bit of wear and smudging to the signature and inscription from handling.
