A rugged, dependable blueliner with staying power. Jay Wells carved out a formidable NHL
career spanning over 1,000 games and 2,359 penalty minutes, including 1,446 with the Kings,
which ranks third all-time in franchise history. Known for his toughness, Wells was more than
just an enforcer, contributing in all zones and serving as a trusted presence throughout his
18-season career.
Featuring their original Lakers colorway, this jersey was worn during the 1982–83 season with
the Los Angeles Kings. It is a size “52” as indicated on the washing instructions tag affixed to the left of a
Maska tag stitched to the inside of the collar. The Maska logo is also stitched on the exterior
back hem, slightly right of center. “24” is featured on both sleeves in yellow and white tackle twill
and appears again on the back in purple over white tackle twill. “WELLS” is stitched across the
yellow nameplate in purple single twill. Game wear is evident throughout. Multiple stick marks
are scattered across the front torso. Two team repairs are clearly visible on the right sleeve and
cuff, accompanied by faint stick marks. Two additional sewn repairs are present on the left
sleeve. The back lower half of the jersey displays further stick marks, and above the nameplate, in the white striping there are some yellowish stains which are noticeable.
