Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025

There was a time in the NHL when the power forward role wasn’t as clearly defined as it is today. But two players, John LeClair and Eric Lindros, helped shape that position into the force it is now. With their rare combination of size and skill, they dominated the ice in ways that hadn’t been seen before. And to make matters worse for their opponents, they played together. Their time with the Flyers marked an era of dominance, one that surprisingly didn’t result in a Stanley Cup. Still, their legacy lives on as a duo that paved the way for countless power forwards to follow.
First, a mid-1990s black Bauer Supreme wooden stick from Lindros, which shows nice game wear. His signature tape job remains visible on both the knob and blade, with a strand of the tape job on the knob detached, while his bold silver signature graces the toe of the blade, beautifully placed and well preserved. “E LINDROS” is stamped across the name bar on the shaft, a lasting tribute to one of the most imposing players the game has ever seen.
Next, a late-1990s Sher-Wood PMP 7000 wooden stick from LeClair, showing clear signs of game use, including a missing portion of the top fiberglass layer of the top front of the blade from heavy action. His original tape job remains on the knob, with some of the outer gauze missing, with “LeCLAIR 10” factory printed just below it on the shaft. Across the blade, LeClair signed in black marker, leaving a personal touch with the inscription: “Best of luck.”
