A sport for which its pre-war card sets are alluring in any condition, the 1933-34 Canadian Chewing Gum V252 hockey release featured numerous rink legends of the era that would go on to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and was one of the first sets to have its cards released with chewing gum included in the packs. Offered here, we present this near-complete set of the 1933-34 Canadian Chewing Gum V252 release that included thirty-nine (39) of the fifty (50) cards making up the complete checklist. Including key examples of Charlie Conacher (POOR - heavy crease at bottom left), George Hainsworth (FR to G - multiple small creases and a right border ding), Harvey "Busher" Jackson (PR to F - pair of large creases at the top right and bottom left), Aurel Joliat (FR to G - multiple very small creases and a stain over the front), Babe Siebert (GOOD - multiple small creases) and Nelson Stewart (PR - large heavy creases and corner damage/wear - off-center), other notables in the contingent include; Dit Clapper (FR to G - multiple light creases and corner wear), Bun Cook (PR - multiple creases), Ebbie Goodfellow (PR - multiple creases), Red Horner (PR - multiple creases) Lorne Chabot (PR - multiple heavy creases) and Alex Connell (GOOD - small/faint creases and a surface stain). For the rest of the set, the condition breakdown includes two (2) cards around G to VG (Gottselig and Finnigan), five (5) cards around FR to G (Ward, Touhey, Sheppard, Roach and Brydson), six (6) cards around PR to F (Northcott, Mantha, Murdoch, Carson, Brydge and Bostrom), twelve (12) cards around the scope of POOR (Wasnie, Sorrell, Smith, Lepine, Kerr, Himes, Heller, Gracie, Emms, Cox, Burke and Abel) and finally, a pair of cards closer to the "AUTHENTIC" grade range (Dutton and Trottier).
