Denis Potvin’s arrival in the NHL immediately signaled the rise of a generational talent on the
blue line. Selected first overall in the 1973 NHL Draft by the New York Islanders, Potvin quickly
established himself as one of the game’s most dominant defensemen. Over his illustrious
career, Potvin captained the Islanders to four consecutive Stanley Cup championships from
1980 to 1983 and collected three Norris Trophies, becoming the first defenseman to eclipse 300
career goals. His blend of offensive skill and defensive strength redefined the position and
solidified his place among hockey’s elite.
Presented here is a strong example of Potvin’s 1974-75 O-Pee-Chee rookie card (#195), graded PSA NM-MT 8.
The card is housed in a PSA holder that remains in great condition, with a few fine scratches to be noted.
