Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
Featuring all Hall of Famers and five of the best players in the NHL during the close of the Original Six era, these hockey pictures were originally trimmed from boxes of General Mills cereal in 1967-68. The five players each featured twice in the set include Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Jean Beliveau, Harry Howell and Stan Mikita. We offer a group of nine - missing just Mikita (face-off) for a complete set. Included, we have full panels for Beliveau (stick handling), Orr (leading an offensive rush), Howe (scoring) and Howell (shooting from the point), with some of the names at the top of a couple have been lightly crossed out in pencil. This is followed by trimmed photos with coupons attached for Orr (using the oppositions' backboards - no white border), Howe (offensive play making - no white border) and Mikita (slapshot - white border intact), along with pictures trimmed right to the photo with Howell (blocking the shot- there is a crease, and glue residue to the bottom corners) and Beliveau (wrist shot - a few creases).
