Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
An all-time favourite premium with collectors and issued in three different sets over an eight-year period during the 1960s, with the first one being released during the first year that the NHL expanded from six (6) to twelve (12) teams, the end of the year saw the Montreal Canadiens knocking off the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup Final. Offered here, we present collection of six (6) glasses from the 1967-68 York Peanut Butter Glasses that picture players from both the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. The third and final series of glasses issued by the confectioner, each features a bust-length photo with facsimile signature, with a cartoon drawing of an official signaling an offense. All measuring approximate 5 3/4" in height with a 3" diameter opening at the top of the glass, it is believed that like the other two (2) series' that were released, that these were issued at the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Including examples of Dave Keon (x2), Tim Horton (x2), Johnny Bower, Gump Worsley and Henri Richard, the glasses remain in overall excellent condition with just the odd slight blemish seen throughout (One of the Horton examples shows some toning), the group exhibits light wear along with a few minor surface scratches, but no large dings or chips.
