Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025

Arguably one of the quickest skaters to ever grace NHL hockey rinks, Pavel Bure was selected 113th overall in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by Vancouver, which proved to be a wise pick, with the Moscow native winning the Calder Memorial as top rookie in 1992. Nicknamed "The Russian Rocket" due to his speed, Bure would suit up in 702 games over the course of his National Hockey League career with the likes of Vancouver, Florida and New York, being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and IIHF Hall of Fame in 2012.
Offered here, we present this stick used by Bure as a member of the Canucks in the early-1990s, circa the 1991-92 and 1992-93 seasons of play. An Easton Aluminum model twig that sports an inserted wooden blade, "Bure" is stamped over the blade stem and the stick retains its original white tape job around the shaved handle/knob.
The original tape job was removed from the blade and retaped in white. As seen on other Bure sticks, he often retaped the blade in white in this style before signing them and giving them away with this particular stick not signed over on the blade.
Showing overall light game-use with a number of marks, scratches and abrasions throughout the length of the shaft as well as a light/small crack in along the top edge of the blade stem just before it turns into the heel, the blade tape shows some marks over both sides and there is some tape residue in two (2) places over the shaft from being taped/bundled together with other sticks.
