Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
77 cards larger than the set from the previous season, the 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee release rang in at 341 total cards, the biggest set released by the Canadian manufacturer up to that point and came at an important time in hockey history as the WHA entered the professional climate with its first season of play that same year. On the auction block here is this near complete set of 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee (340/341), missing just card #341 Gerry Pinder for completion. With the overall condition for the set at approx G-, there are many lower grade cards with creases, tape marks and corner wear, with the star players averaging G- to G. The #8 Dionne is EX off-centered, the #59 Lafleur is F to G- with a large crease, the #129 Orr is Fair with small area of paper loss on the left border, and the #145 Dryden is Fair with crease and rounder corners. The checklists are unmarked and they range from G to VG.
My title below. Sheet of grades done by Bruce. Set is missing card 341-Pinder to be complete
