Cleveland was such a hockey hotbed in the 1950s that the minor league Barons hoped they could add a team to the NHL’s Original Six of that era. This game-worn No. 17 jersey from the American Hockey League’s Barons with its distinctive blue and white-striped shoulders dates from the late-1950s/early 1960s. Bob Barlow (1958-59 and 1959-60), George Gosselin (1959-60), Cal Gardner (1960-61), Dick Van Impe (1961-62) and Bob Forham (1961-62) are among the players who wore No. 17 for the Barons during that time. Rawlings durene jersey features Size 48 tagging inside the hem. “Barons” is spelled out below the tie-neck collar in sewn-on blue twill numbers arched above the No. 17 on the front, also sewn-on blue twill, as are the numbers on the back and both sleeves. Red paint transfer remains adjacent to a reddish-brown spot stain on the left shoulder. There is a circular team repair low on the right sleeve, which also has a small unrepaired hole on the lower blue stripe. Another team sewing fix stands vertically at the bottom right of the “7” on the front. There are two more coarse team repairs on the left sleeve, which displays marks above and on the left cuff that has a burn hole on it as well. There is a three-inch long vertical repair on the left back of the jersey. Comes with an LOA.
