Masterful works of vintage sports are worthy of display in your all-important collection, offered here is this trio of pieces including examples drawn for the 1939 Babe Siebert Memorial Game and boxer Georgie Pace as well as for famed race horse "Sea Biscuit" when he beat the earnings record held before by "Sun Beau". Starting with the Babe Siebert and Georgie Pace pieces, drawn by Tommy Vanplew using a pencil medium for both, the Siebert piece, depicting fallen hockey heroes of the era such as Siebert, Howie Morenz, Charlie Gardiner, Georges Vezina and others, in a cemetery setting, the piece measures out to roughly 17 1/2" x 14" and is titled "The All Stars Benefit Game" while being displayed under a thick cream coloured textured matte and housed in a vintage dark wooden frame with wear and brass details at each corner that measures out to full dimensions of roughly 35 1/2" x 30 1/2". For the Pace artwork, depicting what it was like when he was preparing for the World Bantamweight title with Lou Salica features numerous cartoon like blurbs and quotes of Pace's from the lead up to the bout. Measuring out to roughly 16 1/2" x 13" and displayed under the same matte as previously mentioned, the piece is housed in a vintage wooden frame that shows wear and measures out to full dimensions of approx. 26 1/2" x 29". Both pieces are signed by Vanplew and dated to 1939 and 1940 respectively. Lastly, for the Sea Biscuit piece, done in the same art style and showing him jumping over the rainbow that was Sun Beau's earnings record at the 1940 Santa Anita Handicap, the piece features no artist signature and measures out to approx. 14 1/2" x 13". Housed again in a vintage wooden frame that also shows wear and displayed under a dark matte, fully dimensions run out to 28 1/2" x 24". For the purpose of shipping, if the winning bidder chooses to do so, the pieces can be removed from their frames for less expensive shipping costs.
