The first of a three-year run, Eddie Sargent issued stamps and albums beginning in 1970-71, with each stamp having to be handcut, with the set complete at 224. Offered here, we present this lot that includes 53 stamps over the course of seven (7) panels as well as nine (9) unopened packages that each house one sheet of eight (8) stamps. Starting with the sheets that have already been released from their packages, consisting of four (4) complete pages of eight (8) stamps and three (3) pages that have had one (1) cut away from them, the sheets show the headshots of players such as Beliveau, Bucyk, Laperriere, Ellis, Park, Cheevers, Redmond, Hillman, Plaguer, Mahovlich, Berenson, Giacomin, T. Esposito, Maniago, Bergman, Howell, Howe, Hadfield and others, all remain in good condition with some light wear to the corners and edges, the ones that have had a stamp cut out from them include two (2) that have been done very cleanly while one has a bent back edge. While some light surface dents are observed to the included pages, no major unsightly flaws like creases, tears or stains are observed. For the unopened packages, all nine (9) remain in overall good condition and show light wear with expected creasing with 95% of it observed over the fronts. Additionally, all the packs remain fully sealed and are highlighted two (2) sheets of both Bobby Orr and Gordie Howe.
