Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
As the Calgary Flames entered the new millennium, they were a team in transition, balancing a
roster of established veterans and eager young prospects hoping to make their mark. Among
them was Rico Fata, a former 6th overall pick with blazing speed and raw potential. As Fata
only appeared in two regular season games during the 1999–2000 campaign, both home
contests on October 6th and 8th, when the Flames wore white, this red sweater his
attributed to pre-season action from that year.
Crafted by Pro Player, this size "54" jersey features the “2000NHL” millennium patch on the right
breast, a short-lived emblem used to celebrate the league’s entrance into the 21st century. The
number "15" appears on both sleeves in red over black tackle twill. A stick mark cuts across the
front crest, while the right elbow features a board burn and small hole, likely from contact along
the boards. Two more stick marks are present on the left sleeve. On the verso, "FATA" is stitched
in white over black tackle twill on a red nameplate, while his number "15" appears again in white
over black and yellow triple-layer twill. Inside the jersey, a fight strap is affixed and intact. Most
notable is the team stamp on the inside hem, clearly reading: “Red Jersey #1 of 1.”
