Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/24/2025
This lot offers two game-worn jerseys from the Hartford Wolf Pack, each representing a different
era and a different kind of story from the trenches of the American Hockey League.
The first belonged to Mike Sylvia, who appeared in just three games for the Wolf Pack during
the 1998-99 season. Though his stint with the club was brief, the jersey—certified by a MeiGray
LOA and COR —shows signs of real game wear-and-tear. The navy Bauer-made jersey, size
54, features the classic Wolf Pack crest front and center with team patches on both shoulders
and a Bauer logo on the left chest. The number 18 appears in red over silver and white tackle
twill on both sleeves and the back. “SYLVIA” is applied on a unique navy nameplate with
heat-pressed red over white lettering. Evidence of a previous nameplate is visible, suggesting
the jersey was repurposed for Sylvia. Game use is prominent: on the right sleeve,
a blue transfer mark cuts over the “8,” accompanied by lower sleeve board burns and small stick
marks. The left sleeve features more stick marks and a small board burn on the elbow. A bold
stick mark streaks across the back “8.” The jersey also has a Bauer logo and AHL crest stitched
on the lower back hem, and a fight strap is firmly affixed inside.
The second jersey comes from Kevin Cooper’s time at the 2004 Hartford Wolf Pack training
camp, in a year overshadowed by the NHL lockout. As a result of the lockout, the Rangers’
affiliate club repurposed a set of jerseys originally worn by the New York Rangers during the
2002 and 2003 NHL pre-seasons. These were customized for Hartford’s 2004 AHL pre-season,
with “Wolf Pack” sewn diagonally across the chest in Rangers-style fashion, right overtop of the
original “Rangers” wordmark. This Cooper jersey is a rare, hybrid piece of organizational history,
complete with a team LOA and a MeiGray COR. The size 58 jersey exhibits heavy game wear,
with puck and stick marks covering the front and sleeves. Small holes, along with red and blue
transfer marks, are also found on both sleeves. “COOPER” is printed on a white nameplate in
blue over red lettering, while the number 94 is stitched on both sleeves and the back in
matching tackle twill. A fight strap is sewn into the inside of the jersey, rounding out a jersey that
saw serious camp action in one of the more unusual years in recent pro hockey memory.
