Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
A member of the famed CSKA Moscow team from 1978 to 1989 while also playing for the Soviet Union national team, Alexei Kasatonov was drafted by New Jersey in 1983 and made his NHL debut with the club in 1989-90. This Devils jersey was worn by Kasatonov in 1990-91, and with the team wearing a matching style at the end of the 1989-90 NHL season, the jersey could possibly originate from that time period. Maska labeling is affixed to the collar, with "handwritten "54" sizing. Featuring the red and green team crest in use until 1992, "7" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with NHL, CCM and "Custom Crafted" logos over the reverse hem. The dual-clasp fight strap also remains intact. Game wear includes a few puck and stick marks over the team crest and lower front, with additional marks to both sleeves.
