Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
A season that witnessed Terry Sawchuk secure both his 99th and 100th career shutouts, the Toronto Maple Leafs would finish third at the conclusion of the 1966-67 NHL season, and after taking out Chicago, Toronto would defeat a heavily-favoured Montreal squad in six games to claim hockey’s greatest prize. One of the most desirable Leafs programs in the hobby, we have a copy for the Cup-clinching Game 6 that brought the Blue and White their thirteenth and most recent Stanley Cup championship. The last Stanley Cup of the Original Six era and hailing from the Cup clinching Game 6, won by Toronto 3-1, we offer this Maple Leaf Gardens program from the 1967 Stanley Cup Finals. Measuring roughly 8 ½” x 11”, the complete 80-page booklet shows Leafs legend, Dave Keon, on the cover with the original purchase price of .75 cents and a “Special Edition” designation with an image of the Cup also seen. The centre line-up page remains intact, showing the date of May 2nd, 1967 and listing no fewer than 19 future HOFers listed between the two clubs. In excellent condition, light toning is seen to the interior pages with light surface wear and wrinkles along with edge and corner wear also exhibited to the front and back covers while “1967” is handwritten in pencil to the top of the front cover. Red marks are seen over the back cover as well. The spine shows light wear with no rusting present on the staples. Additionally, the front has been signed by 7 members of the Montreal Canadiens including; Jean Beliveau, Toe Blake, Gump Worsley, Gilles Tremblay, John Ferguson, Ted Harris and Claude Larose. All but Ferguson have signed in pen, with all the signatures displaying well without issue.
