Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023

Lockhart Cup winners as the NAHL's playoff champions in 1976, the Philadelphia Firebirds existed from 1974 to 1979 and played in both the NAHL (1974-77) and AHL (1977-79), before a final season as the Syracuse Firebirds (1979-80). This mid-1970s Firebirds jersey sports no evidence of ever having a nameplate as well as no fight strap - both attributes for a Firebirds game-worn jersey, and as such, it is attributed as a game jersey from the team's set, but not used, with the outside possibility that the jersey could also be from the late-1970s AHL Philadelphia Firebirds/Syracuse Firebirds. Sporting a "large" size tag to the collar and measuring-out to a size 52, the team crest is partially embroidered, with "9" in single white twill sewn to the sleeves and verso. Accompanying the jersey are a matching pair of Rawlings uniform socks, with one sock showing a small hole.
