Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Two of the most integral pieces in the Montreal Canadiens success of the 1950s that resulted in five straight Stanley Cups between 1956 and 1960, Jean Beliveau and Jacques Plante are featured here on the front of their respective 1957-58 Parkhurst cards. Number 3 and 15 in the set respectively, Beliveau’s card back mentions him winning the NHL scoring title the year prior while Plante’s mentions his two Vezina Trophy’s in three seasons. Graded by PSA many years ago, the Beliveau example carries an EX-MT 6 designation while showing light toning to the front side and decent centering along with good corners. The Plante has been graded ENM+ 6.5 by Canadian grader, KSA, while appearing as the lesser of the two via some surface wear/fading through the middle of the card, corner wear and toning. Both holders remain in excellent condition with only light scratches to both sides.
*Please note that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those of PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this card through any of those services therefore would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
