Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Featuring the three strongest female hockey nations battling for supremacy, the 1996 3 Nations Cup was the first edition of the tournament and featured games in Ontario and New York State in October of 1996, with Canada, the US and Finland competing. Canada and the US advanced to the gold medal game, with the mighty maple leaf shutting out the stars and stripes, 1-0. Manon Rheaume – the only women to ever play in a National Hockey League game (preseason) – backstopped the Canadians in their second games vs Finland, a 3-1 victory, and we offer the Team Canada jersey worn by the noteworthy keeper. Bauer Pro labeling with “52” sizing is affixed to the collar, with a Bauer crest screened over the right breast. Styled with a tackle twill team crest with embroidered detailing, “33” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Rheaume” across the nameplate in single white twill. The jersey exhibits very light use, with just a few minor marks visible. An LOA from Hockey Canada will accompany.
