Losing his life along with amateur scout Mark Bavis aboard the ill-fated United Airlines Flight 175, which crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City during the September 11 attacks, Garnet “Ace” Bailey was serving as director of pro scouting for the Los Angeles Kings, having previously been a member of both Stanley Cup and Memorial Cup championships. This stick issued for Bailey’s use has been team-signed by the 1969-70 Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins. A Sher-Wood Pattern Pro model, “Bailey” is stamped to the upper shaft, with approx 17 faded signatures including Cheevers, Bucyk, Espo, Johnston, D Smith, Lesuk, Hodge, McKenzie and others. Game-issued but never used, the top of the shaft has been cut-down somewhat. A COA will accompany.
