A collector’s “traders” from the 1970s are up for grabs here and offer multiple possibilities, with representatives from ’77-78 and ’78-79 combining to total approximately 3000 cards. The collection dates back to some 175 from ’71-72, with some interesting star power and secondary rookie card action present and condition mostly in the VG to EX range, making the intermittent EX-MT and NM cards pleasant surprises. In lesser condition and mostly commons are 100+ from ’72-73 while ’74-75 entries total 300+. Again, handled and enjoyed with F, G and VG elements. There are a few dozen ’75-76s and then a starter set-looking batch of 300+ from ’76-77 is joined by 700+ duplicates. A well-centered Bryan Trottier RC is a highlight and you can anticipate plenty of EX contributors and a VG-EX to EX average, with duplication (heavy at times) amid the extras. We should point out that because of the (open-box) storage method, edge toning/staining is observed that occasionally makes its way onto surfaces and that, throughout the hoard. Now then, well over 1800 from ’77-78 include hundreds of NM-or-better examples, with stars, league leader cards and unmarked team checklists carrying appeal. A curvature to the cards is to be aware though and that’s the same for 1100 from ’78-79. Not-sharp corners and a (right) edge ding render two off-centered Mike Bossy RCs VG+ while better (NM average) are multiples (four or five each) of Dave Taylor, Bernie Federko and Brian Sutter rookies. Plenty of sorting and pricing await an entrepreneurial hobbyist here.
