Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

Number 1 all-time in the eyes of countless hockey observers is the wizard from Brantford, Ontario who baffled opponents season after season, with number "6" and "ENM" appearing on the label of the holder that houses this Wayne Gretzky rookie card. Canada's ACA is responsible for the assessment, with the firm's sturdy holder rather impressive and the following sub grades listed on the back of the label: Corners 5, Edges 7, Surface 7.5 and Center 7.5. Light dings and wear to the bottom corners, along with wear to those above are to mention, with some roughness to part of the right edge also observed. Light scratches to the front of the holder and scratches and small scuffs to the back of it are noteworthy, as are the two thin horizontal blue lines on the back of the card, (at the bottom of the cartoon), the lines a sign, in the opinion of numerous hobbyists, of O-Pee-Chee's first print run that 1979-80 season. Please note that the grading standards followed by ACA may not correspond to those employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this card through any of those services, therefore would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
