Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Fascinating and oh so fun to check out are old uncut sheets, with O-Pee-Chee’s ever-popular 1971-72 (1st Series) cards featured here and highlighted by the image that had kids’ eyes popping back in the day; Ken Dryden wearing his mask on his famous rookie card – cool. The Dryden card is in the seventh (horizontal) row from the top, with that of fellow goaltending great Bernie Parent beside it. Numerous “games” can be played with uncut sheets; which row has the most Hall of Famers?, how many total HOFers? (we count 21), how many rookie cards? and so on. Bobbys Hull and Orr appear in the lower left quadrant and like Dryden, do not appear to be affected by creasing. You’ll notice moisture staining along much of the left edge region, with however the famous #111-Checklist escaping it. Almost top-to-bottom creasing is to report, between the fifth and sixth vertical rows, with small tears in the top, bottom and right edges, the latter exhibiting roughness. All not drastic in our eyes – yours too will be admiring the wonderful array of memory-provoking colors and the classic, star-studded roster when this special scarcity arrives.
