Coming from his first Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy season, in which he slung 41 pucks into opposition nets, is this CCM JetSpeed FT4 Pro stick used by the sniper during the 2020-21 National Hockey League season. Acquired directly from the Maple Leafs, the stick features “Papi 34” factory graphics on the shaft while the blade sports its original white tape job. Matthews’ original white grip tape covers the handle that displays a handwritten “34” on the front and cross on the back, both done in black ink. Additionally, Matthews has written “G2 OTT” on the side of the handle tape, the Leafs played the Ottawa Senators on January 15th, 2021 in their second game of the season. The stick shows good use through puck marks over both sides of the blade tape and numerous scuffs/abrasions over the shaft and heel, with the lower portion having been blacked out. A Leafs LOA will accompany the stick. Of note, Getty Image #1230640071 (January 15th, 2021 vs Ottawa) appears to show the same chipping at the "J" in Jetspeed on the shaft as on the stick offered here but it is not clear enough to call a definite photo-match.
