Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Properly earning his “The Hammer” nickname by continuously thrashing opponents, Dave Schultz is widely recognized as one of the greatest “enforcers” in NHL history, with his single-season record of 472 penalty-minutes untouchable. Just as able to put the puck in the net, Schultz would register four 30-point seasons during his tenure. Scoring his first NHL hat trick on Jan 3, 1974 vs the New York Rangers, we offer the plaque with mounted goal puck originally presented to the notorious tough guy. Oval shaped at 11 ½” x 12 ½”, the finished wood plaque with beveled edges sports a mounted metal plate in Flyers colours with a 4” x 6” black and white image of Schultz, with the puck with rubberized Flyers logo that shows game-use mounted to the lower right. The particulars are engraved over the upper right, including “Dave Schultz” and “First NHL Hat Trick”, along with the date, opponent and score. In gorgeous condition, with just light wear, a signed LOA from Dave Schultz will accompany.
