Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
A splendid high grade example of Gordie Howe's 1954-55 Parkhurst card is on the auction block here, with SGC rendering a lofty "86 NM+" verdict a number of years ago. Light wear at the top right corner is observed, along with light toning, while an immaculate-looking surface and smooth edges are among the card's attributes. After winning the NHL scoring title for four straight seasons before this card was issued, Howe was described on the back as having established himself as one of hockey's immortals, as well as, "This perfectly co-ordinated young giant from Western Canada is still approaching his peak." Howe and the Red Wings made it four Stanley Cup championships in six years in '54-55 and that, after winning the regular season title for a still-record seventh straight time. The most valuable card in the '54-55 Parkie set awaits your high grade encapsulated shrine, with light scratches to the SGC holder to note.
